Newbridge-on-Wye Church in Wales School is a welcoming, inclusive and caring learning community where pupils feel safe, valued and supported. The school places a strong emphasis on pupil well-being and has developed exceptionally positive relationships between pupils, staff and families. As a result, nearly all pupils enjoy coming to school, attend regularly and demonstrate positive attitudes to learning. Many pupils, including those with additional learning needs, make good progress in their learning and development.

The headteacher has established a collaborative ethos in which staff, pupils and parents work together effectively and feel valued. Governors provide effective support and challenge, and leaders have a clear understanding of the school's strengths and priorities for improvement. The nurturing atmosphere throughout the school contributes significantly to pupils’ high levels of well-being and sense of belonging.

Opportunities to work with artists, musicians, local businesses and community groups help pupils develop their creativity, confidence and understanding of the world around them.

Most pupils make strong progress in reading, writing, mathematics and digital skills. Teachers have high expectations and use effective teaching strategies to support pupils’ learning and develop their thinking skills. The school's provision for pupils with additional learning needs is a particular strength, ensuring that pupils receive tailored support and achieve positive outcomes.
